Track and Field Trio Turn In NAIA All-American Efforts
Meet Summary
The Bethel College Track & Field teams competed at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship Meet this weekend in Johnson City, Tennessee and left with three All—American places at the meet.
Bethel junior, Zach Burrington, placed 4th nationally in the men’s pole vault clearing a height of 15’9”. On the women’s side, Bethel freshmen, Caitlyn Gager and Ann O’Keefe, placed 4th and 6th respectively in the nation in the women’s pole vault. Gager cleared a height of 11’11_” while O’Keefe cleared the 11’5_” mark. For there efforts, Burrington, Gager, and O’Keefe earned NAIA All—American honors.
Other participants in the NAIA national meet were senior Geoffrey King, Juniors Rod Waters, Chris Warhop and Kate Bishop, and Freshman Jessie Spearman.
We at Run Throw Jump would like to say congrats to these athletes, and our three All-Americans for a job well done in Tennessee. Their time and effort has truly paid off. Also, a congrats is extended to all the coaches and athletes in the program for a very successful 2007 indoor season.
Up next for the Pilots is the outdoor season, with the first meet this Saturday at Defiance College Track & Field Invitational in Defiance, Ohio.
